A historic day

Today was a historic day. Madam Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden were sworn in. I was able to have the inauguration streaming while I worked. I have dual screens, so I could watch a lot of it. I got emotional at some parts. All of the women looked amazing. Watching Kamala get sworn in was the best. The music was great. Seeing the previous Presidents and First Ladies converse was great, and I was even proud of how well Mike Pence conducted himself. He really has stepped up quite a bit since 1/6.

I wish I could have watched the rest of the afternoon, but I had to get my head down and get to work as I am off work on Friday and have a few things that are a bit time sensitive.

It was awesome to see so many people share photos of their kids, especially their daughters watching today! It was also interesting to see how quiet others were. Especially the ones who ironically shared MLK Jr. quotes just a few days ago…

An update on Moxie’s sleeping: Last Friday I put her in the crate to sleep at night and put a sheet over it, she whined maybe a few minutes and then slept through the night. I had my alarm set for 6:15 to get up and let her out, she slept through the night, no accident in the crate. We did this all weekend and continued through the week.

Last night [Tuesday] I let her sleep in my bed with me, as it was super windy and I had moved her crate over to the sliding glass door in hopes of keeping her more awake during the day — so she’s sleepy at night. The wind was terrible and she’s a bit scared of it. She did well. I heard her whining after she jumped out of bed and wet pee on the potty pad about 4:30, but slept til 6:30.

She’s going back in the crate tonight. 6 more weeks of the dog walker, then I’m calling it quits. She’ll be 6 months old on March 1st. I’m hopeful that by September whens she is a year old I can keep her out on the main floor… but I’m not 100% sure on that.

I have somehow got sucked into TikTok over the weekend. #TikTokYouDontStop if you know, you know. I’ve had an account for quite some time, I’ve just never really scrolled… until this weekend. Apparently this long weekend was 72 hours but I’m certain I was on there for 55 of those.
