Introducing, Moxie!

After being disappointed, but relieved to not get the puppy in Ohio I reached out to EVERY breeder who has had a Bichpoo litter. I found a few places, one I was pretty set on, somewhere in Indiana.

Last night it was 10:30 and I came in to check my email before bed, and got an email that this family in north central Iowa had one left, a female, and her price was amazing, compared to other places. I immediately wrote back that I would take her. I got a few other questions answered in our four emails back and forth. She was born 9/1, so she’ll be ready to go anytime after Tuesday. I am picking her up at 10:30 on Saturday morning. The breeder has a meeting prior to that, and it’s about a 3 hour drive for me.

Here she is, Moxie. A bichpoo [poochon] her coloring is called Apricot, she’s a little light to be red. Her mom, the Bichon is 18 pounds and her dad, the mini poodle, is 13… so she won’t be more than 20.

mox·ie force of character, determination, or nerve. I saw the word in a book [don’t remember which one] and I knew that I would name a dog that someday! I’ve had it picked out for a handful of years!

I had started to buy a few things, but bought a few other things after we confirmed she was mine! I have to work on Monday [11/1] a few days after she comes home, but my Mom is going to come up and let her out / play with her, she’s pretty excited! I haven’t had a puppy since Turbo, 16 years ago. It’s like starting all over again, remembering it all!

I am hoping to chat with the boss and coworker to see if I can take a few days off and maybe work a few half days. I will need to get her to the vet, and schedule to have her spayed and whatever else needs done. She will be up-to-date on shots.

I’m so freaking excited. I know it’ll be some work, but I’m ready.

I spent the afternoon putting an IKEA dresser together, but two of the four drawers do not go in. No matter what I do, a few of the pieces are not cut right so I’m guessing that’s the issue. I’m going to have to find someone to get it and burn it for me. Mom thinks Joe might be able to fix it… or at least for them to keep. But we shall see. I found another dresser at Slumberland, and it appears it’s delivered assembled.

I’m exhausted, time for bed!
