COVID19 By The Week 3.15.20-3.21.20

3.15.20  New cases: 4, total cases: 22, new deaths: 0, total deaths: 0

Even more limitations on entrances / exits at the hospital.

3.16.20  New cases: 1, total cases: 23, new deaths: 0, total deaths: 0

A very nice video message + email from Suresh letting us know we are appreciated. I already had a grocery pickup order scheduled but it isn’t all that I needed to be “in for however long” so I’m going to schedule another.

3.17.20  New cases: 6, total cases: 29, new deaths: 0, total deaths: 0

The state of Iowa issues a Public Health Emergency; all businesses to close. Classes to close for  No more than 10 people to gather through 3.31.20. Restaurants can do carry out only! All meetings are to be moved to Skype, Zoom or conference calls

3.18.20  New cases: 9, total cases: 38, new deaths: 0, total deaths: 0

Employee screening begins. We must have our ID badge, and we are asked “in the past week, have you had any new cough, difficulty breathing, body aches or fever?”. Anyone over 70, they recommend they not provide patient care,  all volunteers are to not report to work.

3.19.20  New cases: 6, total cases: 44, new deaths: 0, total deaths: 0

More buses to get us from our parking lot into the hospital, and we are able to move up a lot if need be starting Monday 3.23.20. I’ve decided to stay where I am as it’s already a habit, and the bus is still running from there!

3.20.20  New cases: 1, total cases: 45, new deaths: 0, total deaths: 0

Suresh announced via e mail that we will have an extra $300 on our April 1st check. As well as parking waived for the month.  His communication has been amazing!

3.21.20  New cases: 23, total cases: 68, new deaths: 0, total deaths: 0

I picked up my second grocery pick up order of the week; as I mentioned above I did my first order prior to the real chaos starting… and I needed a few more things to be in for the long haul!
