I missed the Friday Five. I always have intentions to start it at the beginning of the week and add to it as I go but I failed.
Recap of the week: work was chaotic, we have someone out for a surgery, still. We have someone who was out on vacation, so we were spread a bit thin.
I wish I could tell you what I did in the evenings after work, but mostly I have a Scentsy group on Monday evenings at 9, and I don’t remember the rest of the evenings after work until Thursday. I went to Wildwood to see Aaron Watson at Wildwood.
Friday morning we had gotten a little snow, and on the bus from the parking lot in to work I did what I called Chunky Chick Olympics. I had two steps to walk down and on the last one I really don’t know how it all played out but I did the splits and knocked my knee pretty freaking hard. I feel like I pulled my groin. I was mostly embarrassed. Thankfully there was only one person behind me and the driver on the bus.
I grabbed breakfast the went to my office and finally assessed the “damage” My knee just had a few little scrapes. As the day went on I felt a bit more sore, my knee was hot. My thigh / groin area was sore felt like it was stretched / pulled.
I met up with Eldon and we went to see Jake Owen, Larry Fleet + Scotty Emmerick last night, it was one helluva show. I haven’t been to a show that was set up like that, but it was awesome. You could just tell by Jake’s smile how genuine he was in loving and living in the moment. As the night wore on, my knee was really bugging me, the ibuprofen was wearing off.
When I got home I took a bath, I knew heat wasn’t the answer but it felt great to relax. I did ice it for a bit after. I didn’t sleep so well — it’s my right leg and I sleep on my side, so I tried to sleep on my left side. Thankfully I use a body pillow.
I woke up and ran a few errands today, met up with the family for a quick lunch at JB’s before my folks head out on vacation. I got back and decided to take a nap, but needed to wrap my knee with my brace that allows the ice pack to be tucked in.
My knee is still hot to touch, and it’s a bit touchy. My whole leg is just sore. Eldon mentioned last night I could have broke my kneecap or chipped it or something. I kind of blew it off… but I’m kind of thinking if it’s still bugging me as the week goes on I might need to get it checked out.
The afternoon nap I took threw a wrench in the evening. I don’t have any plans, but I woke up about 5:45 and now it’s 9:45 and I don’t know what I did with my evening.
I’m still way behind on cleaning off my DVR, but it’s still super full. I think I have 24 episodes of Ellen to catch up on… I really just need to turn them on as if it were a podcast and get through them. I went through and deleted the ones that are guest hosted, they aren’t my favorite. I kind of think I need to go through and see who is on them and see if it’s worth my time. I haven’t been reading as much either. Kindle gives you this ” streak” thing, and I lost my x days in a row streak earlier this week. I am 3 books behind on my Goodreads Challenge. I know I’ll find an author / series and get sucked in and get back ahead or at least even. Soon things will even out. I just need to be a better steward with my downtime and figuring it out what junk I am filling it with.
