Friday Five | 2.14.20

Five things or moments in my life that happened this week that I want to write about.

  • Red Sox
  • Aunt J + Amz
  • Mom’s Alexa
  • DVR’d shows
  • Valentine’s Day

Red Sox: Boston named a new Interim Manager, and I’m not sure what to think of it, this also after they traded Mookie Betts and David Price. Let’s not even talk about Brock Holt, he’s a free agent but not gone anywhere yet. I’m holding out he’ll stay in Boston for another year, but I’m not holding my breath. Coming off the cheating scandal and the firing of Alex Cora — this year will be tough, hell it might be a rough few years.

Aunt J + Amz: Amzie stayed with Mom + Joe Saturday night, while Treyden got to do whatever he wanted on “his” night. I went down for a bit, had supper and hung out. They came up for breakfast on Sunday, too. Amz wanted IHOP; and she just ordered toast. Hah!

Mom’s Alexa: My mother is incredibly hard to buy gifts for. Her birthday is the 18th and I wanted to show her some love for helping me with my surgery. She happened to see me use my Alexa after my surgery — so they were on sale and I grabbed one for her. I helped her get it set up on Saturday, I think it’s safe to say she loves it!

DVR’d shows: Somehow I have gotten really behind in catching up on the shows I have on my Hulu DVR… I’m slowly trying to get through them. I have gotten caught up on The Resident, Grey’s, Station 19 and Chicago Med, but I am working my way through getting caught up on The Good Doctor, and New Amsterdam.  See a pattern here? I also have 15 episodes of Ellen to get through.

Valentine’s Day:  Just another day in my life, the more important day is tomorrow – when the candy is on sale. I always hit up ‘after holiday candy sales’ to fill the candy bowl at work!  Sure I wish I was dating someone, but the day has become so commercialized.  I made myself some goulash and pretty sure I’ll call it a night early!
