Long weekend

It’s a Sunday that’s kind of like an extra Saturday. I’m off on Monday for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Reverting back to Friday — yep, didn’t do the Friday Five; but I plan on continuing I do like the concept of it, and I’m writing more!   I met with the ENT doctor on Friday morning, and I had finally started to get nervous.  I got back into the room, went over the basics with the nurse.  Then Dr. Vos walked in and he said “Well, let’s just cut to the chase, no tumor!” I was holding my breath… but whew!

He said my MRI showed that my sinuses are pissed off!  I found out that I have Eustachian tube dysfunction [nothing to worry about just adds to the difficulty of fluids draining].  Basically we need to get to work on the rest to get my allergies calmed down. I’m having surgery on Thursday to have my “super huge” adenoids removed. Very simple surgery, and I’ll go back to work on Monday.

Friday’s weather turned pretty shitty, pretty fast. It took me a bit longer than usual to get home – but I went through town vs taking the interstate. It’s been a very lazy weekend sine.

I was struggling through my current book; Twisted Twenty-Six by Janet Evanovich. I’m done reading any more Stephanie Plum series books. It’s always the same damn story line, time never progresses. It took me 8 days to read it. Normally I can read at least 2 books in that time. Selfishly I’m pissed because for the first time in a long time — it set me back on my “reading goal” on Goodreads but no fear.. I’ll catch up.

I made a quick run to Fareway yesterday to get a few things I needed for meals for the day, and then did a grocery pick up scheduled for this morning. I got home and got all that put away, cleaned up my kitchen, ran my vacuum [the robot one!] I’ve got laundry in the washer + dryer, and I’ve sat down to watch a little TV. I figured I’d want to get the condo cleaned up and ready to go for me being home after surgery — and I don’t want Mom to think I live in filth.  For the record, I don’t, but I know I’m not the best at keeping my kitchen floor cleaned and I don’t know when I last dusted.

I have a few pretty ambitious lists for today and tomorrow… but I won’t beat myself up over it if it doesn’t get done; but I feel a nap coming on.
