I’ve mentioned many times I’m not big on resolutions. I’ve always kind of made “yearly goals” a bit more around my birthday as it’s a start of a new year for me. In my Scentsy Master Class, we’ve been talking about word of the year, business goals, all that stuff that is common around the first of the year.
I do like the new / fresh start January 1st brings. A new planner, for sure!
I’ve read James Clear’s Atomic Habits a few times, and love it. We are reading it for this years Master Class, and I’m excited. I’ve tracked a few things in my planner, but this year in this planner there’s a new dashboard type page so, as I usually do, I used full page white and clear labels to add to my pages! This is a blank one as my January is already in use.
There are a few things that I would like to work on – not so much a resolution or goal.
- Eating at home more / meal prep / meal planning
- Taking my lunch to work
- Cutting back big time on planner stuff
- Floss daily
Eating at home more / meal prep / meal planning: I do well with this for a bit then don’t, and end up grabbing a burger at Culver’s, or take out from my favorite local Mexican restaurant more than I want to admit. It’s just me, so I’m not sure I need to sit down and plan out meals for the week, but I do need to pay attention to what I have in the cupboard, fridge, freezer, and pantry to figure out what groceries I need for meals for the week. This will also save me some money too. I’m not the best at setting a budget for groceries + restaurants.
Taking my lunch to work: Just as the above, I need to get even better at taking lunch to work. I have been doing somewhat better the last probably quarter of 2019. It’s $7-12 to eat lunch at work most days. It will also save me some money.
Cutting back big time on planner stuff: I have my planner and my base stickers – I use two shops pretty much exclusively, so I stocked up after Christmas on what I need and I think I’m set through at least June! I used to buy all the seasonal surprise boxes from EC [quarterly] but I’ve decided that this year I’m not buying any. The 2021 planners will launch late May, early June, so I’ll snag mine on launch and should be good to go.
Floss daily: This is pretty self explanatory. I’m not the best at this. I have an appointment in February that I’m going to ask the dentist his thoughts / opinions on a water flosser, if it’s worth it.
There are a few more but they are more just for me. But hey it’ll be fun to come back and see just how well I’m doing, or failing.
