4 Day Weekend

I had long ago taken Friday off, thinking we wold be preparing for Labor Daze Country Fest.  Then we decided to bump the gates open time til later this year, so we didn’t need to set up on Friday.

Thursday night Adam and I were texting back and forth; and he asked me if any museums would be open tomorrow. The only  ones I could think about were at the U of Iowa. Then he suggested we go to House On The Rock so we planned for that, very spontaneous, but it’s only a few hours away, so why the heck not?  We took off about 9; wasn’t in too big of a hurry to get there and spent about 4 hours going through all 3 sections! We were seriously two of maybe 20 people there. Adam hadn’t been there since 99, and I was maybe 6? So we were both pumped to go through it all again. We totally took our time and looked at EVERYTHING. Adam knew there were a few bookshelves that I would just love, so of course I had to snap a few pictures.

Then we were looking at one area that was sort of an apothecary / pharmacy area, and we found this, it was pretty interesting to look at.

We took our time heading home, and planned to go “off the beaten path” and we found ourselves in a small town Potosi, Wisconsin. There was a brewery, the National Brewery Museum and a cute little restaurant.  Potosi Brewery  We both had a burger; they were awesome, and some fried cheese curds, and Adam got a different beer; and then we made our way back home.

It was such a nice day!

Saturday I was out the door by 11 headed to Montezuma, for Labor Daze Country Fest… but one little set back. When Adam comes, I park in my garage, so he can park in my parking spot. I had all I needed loaded in my car, and as I was pulling out of the garage I saw my fold in half table that I use for Scentsy; so I put the car in park and grabbed it. As I threw it in my back seat, out comes two freaking mice. I grabbed the table and threw it on the grass next to the garage and still had one mouse climbing in my car. I eventually got it out, and it took about a half hour for my heart to get calmed down. Can you imagine if I was driving down the interstate and then they crawled on me!?

The festival itself wasn’t as great as the year before, but it’s all a learning thing.  Cody’s Mom and I made quite a few notes of what to do and not do for next year.

I got home about 1:50 am, showered and crawled into bed. I slept until about noon, got up and around grabbed some groceries and had a lazy day at home. I barely slept in today because my Mom has this uncanny knack for knowing its a day you can sleep in so she’ll text you and wake you up. It wasn’t long that I decided to crawl back in bed for a decent nap. I decided to go wash my car and vacuum it out. One because I was on gravel this weekend and two because I wanted to make sure there were no more mice in there!

All cleaned out, and home for the night; did some Scentsy work, watched a little TV, now I think I’ll go find something to eat and call it a night. Bring on a 4-day work week.
